This page will detail what information or knowledge roles are expected to know, or not know, at round start.

Humans

  • All marines are familiar with Aliens and their lifecycle and habits, but are not initially aware of the infestation of the colony, and cannot make plans based on the presence of Aliens. Once a Alien or resin is reported, you are to assume you are dealing with Aliens.
  • All Marines as well as the Almayer crew are able-bodied. Meaning USCM won't enlist someone to the Marines who are not crippled or mentally damaged.
  • Survivors may ONLY share the information your character knows with the Marines. (Until the new knowledge system is implemented, you know the basic life-cycle and that the aliens are "in the east".)
  • Every Marine role in the game have different skills depending on their starting role. For example, while a Chief Medical Doctor is an master in medical services (Such as the knowledge of different types of pills and surgery), they're untrained in building engineering items (They have a limited set of items that can only be built by novice-skilled roles).
  • Specialist weaponry (Including the B18 armor) can only be used by the Specialist role. As they're trained in Heavy Weaponry. However, other Specialists do NOT know how to use other Specialist weapons besides their own weapon and equipment.
  • The M56 handheld Smartgun can only be used by the Smartgunner, PMC Smartgunner and the Commander. As all of them are trained in the usage of a Smartgun. The M56D mounted Smartgun can be used by many other roles.
  • Combat Medics and Researchers do not know how to preform surgery, only Medical Doctors or the Chief Medical Officer know how to perform surgery.
  • Marines are allowed to know about Alien facehuggers and what they do, and can assume that if they wake up in the hive, that they are infected, or they awake from suddenly being unconscious.
  • Command (CO, XO, Staff Officer), Medical (MD, CMO) and Engineering staff (CE, Maint Tech) on board the Almayer May deploy to the AO, as long as it follows their SOP, but should avoid going into direct combat.
  • Military Police and Chief Military Police can not leave the Almayer unless they are doing so to track down a rogue Marine who is not on the Almayer or they are escorting/piloting a Dropship. Military Police and CMPs are expected to return to the Almayer ASAP. The expection to this rule is when defcon 1 is reached and the nuke is deployed, in which case they are allowed to deploy and protect it, leaving before the nuke is set off, or FOB is overrun
  • Marines do not know of the existence of "Jamaicans" (see both Slang and Hunters), nor does the USCM or WY have recorded history of them. Once proven to be hostile they are free to be killed.

Aliens

  • As long as slashing is enabled, Aliens are allowed to kill marines if they deem it necessary. If a Marine is infected and alone, care should be taken to ensure they are captured and brought to the hive for securement.
  • You are to listen to the Queens every order, even if it means blatantly suiciding. if you believe the Queen is attempting to break a rule, Ahelp it and let admins deal with it, it is not your job to disobey.
  • If the Queen dies, all Aliens are free to use lethal force on any prey, beware that you're unable to use the alien Hivemind. However if there is no drone or drone caste to evolve into a queen, care should be taken to ensure a human is infected and evolves into a queen.
  • You know that more humans are on their way to the area, as you can feel their presence in the sky.
  • You are aware of "Headhunters" ((see both Slang and Hunters) existenence, and know that they on occasion will hunt your strongest members, and if infected produce a special Alien. (see Abomination), but they will hunt this abomination down and use all their tools to kill it.
